The 3 mile stretch of sandy beach on Devon’s north coast is a popular spot with both families and surfers alike, with plenty of seaside shops, cafés and restaurants in the nearby Woolacombe Village.

Whitby Sands, North Yorkshire

Formby Beach in Merseyside is set in a National Trust conservation area and is a great location for anyone wanting to holiday in the North West without heading to one of the bigger seaside towns. You can enjoy Formby’s golden sandy beach and observe some rare wildlife on the nearby Red Squirrel Walk.

Formby Point Caravan Park is a very short walk from the beach, which is ideal for busier times of the year where beachside parking is limited.

Freshwater West has been used as a location for many films including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood. The beach is also dog friendly, with a café open from Spring to early Autumn for refreshments.
