Just because the summer holidays are officially over and the kids are back at school, it doesn’t mean your family adventures have to stop. In fact, September is one of the industry’s best-kept secrets. The roads are quieter, the campsites are less crowded, and we often get treated to that glorious late-summer sunshine.
If you are looking to squeeze every last drop of fun out of the milder weather, a weekend motorhome getaway is the perfect solution. Picking up a luxury motorhome from our convenient bases in Lancashire (Oswaldtwistle) or Cheshire (Northwich) on a Friday afternoon means you can be pitched up and relaxing by dinnertime.
Short Motorhome Breaks for Autumn
Here are three incredible weekend destinations right on our doorstep
The Peak District Just a short drive from our Cheshire depot, the Peak District is ideal for a two-night escape. Pack the bikes into the garage of our spacious Auto-Trail F-72 and cycle the family-friendly Monsal Trail.
North Wales Coast Head down the A55 and within a couple of hours, you can be parked up overlooking the sea. September is the perfect time to explore towns like Conwy and Llandudno without the peak summer crowds. Enjoy fish and chips on the beach before heading back to the motorhome for a hot shower and a cosy movie night.
The Southern Lake District If you are picking up from our Lancashire base, the southern tip of the Lake District (around Windermere and Coniston) is less than an hour and a half away. It’s the perfect distance for a stress-free Friday evening drive.
